Emergency Management Specialist (Direct Hire)

Summary As an Emergency Management Specialist with the Office of Protective Service, you will be responsible for supporting the Agency's Emergency Management Officer on developing, implementing, and evaluating the Agency emergency management and continuity of operations programs. You will develop and establish policies and procedures for use in the assessment and evaluation of those programs, ensuring deficiencies in emergency management capabilities are identified. Qualifications Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level: Developing preparedness and operational plans including all aspects of activities associated with emergency preparedness and national compliance; Developing, executing, and reviewing exercises that are intended to validate and demonstrate the adequacy of emergency plans and operations and related policies and procedures; Identifying, categorizing, and developing assessment approaches used to identify risks and mitigate weaknesses.
