Summary
About the Position:
This position is located at: Department of Defense Education Activity, DoDEA-Americas Office of the Director SPED Support Team, Southeast District, Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
Description of the Working Environment: Work is performed in an office setting.

Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
Direct deposit of pay is required.
Two year trial period may be required.
Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
This position requires a Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age.
You may be required to sign a transportation agreement.
You will be required to sign a mobility agreement, be available for worldwide placement, and be willing to rotate to any DoDEA location.
Incumbent must respect the privacy and sensitivities of students and parents by controlling and restricting personal information to those with a need to know.
The additional background requirements are State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) checks.
The incumbent may be required to travel by military and/or commercial aircraft, land, or sea transportation to a variety of stateside and/or overseas meetings and may be subject to a variety of environment conditions to include acts of terrorism.
Subject to Section 231, Crime Control Act of 29 November 1990; Section 13041, Title 42, United States Code; and Section 1094, National Defense Authorization Act (For fiscal years 1992 and 1993) of 5 December 1991, and the DoDI 1402.05.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Minimum Education Requirement: A minimum of a Master's degree in the field of Special Education or Education is required for all Special Education Instructional System Specialist (ISS) positions.
Specialized Experience Requirement (5 years): Specialized experience is experience gained in teaching, educational research, development of educational materials and aids, educational testing, educational administration, or comparable activities in an elementary and/or secondary school, which has clearly demonstrated success in the application of principles, methods, and techniques of education and familiarity with current developments in PK-12th grade education and training. This experience must have been in Special Education.
Preferred consideration given to applicants that have completed coursework in the following content areas:
Learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology: Study of learning theories as they relate to the systematic design, development, and validation of instructional material.
Instructional design practices: Study of the principles and techniques used in designing training programs, developing design strategy and models, and applying design methods to the improvement of instructional effectiveness.
Educational evaluation: Study of the techniques for evaluating the effectiveness of instructional educational programs, including developing written and performance tests and survey instruments, and determining reliability and validity of evaluation instruments.
Instructional product development: Study of the techniques appropriate for developing training materials, including identifying learner characteristics, specifying objectives, applying training strategy, validating training materials, and evaluating training.
Computers in education and training: Study of the application of computers in education and training.
Professional Licensure Requirement: Applicants must be currently certified or certifiable under the current DoDEA standards in any Special Education certification area.

Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
