The final candidate will be subject to a background security check after a conditional offer of employment has been extended and accepted.
Applicants will not be asked about their criminal history prior to receiving a tentative offer of employment. Applicants completing the AO 78 Application for Judicial Branch Employment are not required to complete questions 18 through 20 regarding criminal history. Criminal history is not in itself disqualifying.
Providing false and/or misleading information may be grounds for removal from the application and selection process, as well as disciplinary action if discovered after an individuals' date of hire. All application information is subject to verification.
Employment will be provisional and contingent upon the satisfactory completion of the required background investigation.
Employees are subject to mandatory electronic funds transfer.
Except for Probation Officers, employees are considered "At-Will".
Employees are required to adhere to the Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees.
Qualifications
To qualify, the candidate must have a minimum of six years of progressively responsible administrative, supervisory, technical, professional, or managerial experience that provided an opportunity to gain: (1) a thorough knowledge of management practices and administrative processes; (2) skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships; (3) the ability to exercise mature judgement, and (4) the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to a wide variety of stakeholders. At least three of the six years of experience must have been in a position with substantial management responsibility. The successful candidate should be a leader, motivator, highly organized, and possess a high degree of integrity. The demands of the position require an individual who is adapted to varied responsibilities in which personal initiative and excellent communications skills are highly valued.
Preferred:
Candidates with supervisory experience and experience in the legal environment; knowledge of, and progressively responsible experience in, court or legal management.
Education
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. Completion of a master's degree or two years of graduate study (60 semester or 90 quarter hours) in an accredited university in such fields as business or public administration, political science, criminal justice, law, management, or related field, or completion of a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, may be substituted for two years of specialized experience. Qualifications must be met at the time of the application.
