Summary

As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.

Serves as Manager, Office of Airports, Airport Planning and Programming Branch, WP Region.

Specialized experience for this position is defined as direct technical or management-level involvement in processes related to civil airport planning, environmental review of civil airport infrastructure development and /or airport capital financial processes

Duties continued:

Optional responsibility: Implements and oversees the Regional Safety Management System (SMS) program. This includes working with Regional Airports Division employees and ADOs to implement Office of Airports SMS program guidance as issued by Headquarters; ensuring subject matter experts on SRM panels as appropriate; maintaining regional guidance to include training and national coordination of the SMS process; working with other FAA offices in the implementation of SMS Agency wide.

Optional responsibility: Implements and oversees the Airports Geographic Information Systems (AGIS) program. This includes working with Regional Airports Division employees and ADOs to implement Office of Airports Geographic Information System guidance as issued by Headquarters; maintaining regional guidance to include training and national coordination of the Geographic Information System projects; working with other FAA offices in the collection maintenance and dissemination of Airport Geographic Information.

Optional Responsibility: Implements and oversees the regional airspace evaluation program for airports. This includes working with regional office employees, ADOs and other airport safety stakeholders such as airport operators, air carriers, FAA offices, airport vendors, and consultants regarding airport design standards relating to the protection of airspace on airports. This also includes the technical review of all standards and guidance developed by Headquarters; regional implementation of those standards and guidance; and providing guidance and support to the ADOs, as needed, to address any airspace issues that come up in the field.
