NP - Palliative Care opening in Oklahoma Located in Stillwater, OK Full-Time & Permanent Seeking a BE/BC Nurse Practitioner with Hospital and/or Oncology experience to join team. Provide comprehensive, quality palliative care services to patients under the direction of the supervising Palliative Care Medical Director. The PC-APRN is an integral member of the interdisciplinary, palliative care team and will be responsible for providing patient visits for palliative care patients both new and established and coordinating their plans of care. Palliative care services will be delivered across the care continuum, including inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. Following a period of orientation and training, the PC-APRN will engage in independent decision-making about a patients advanced healthcare concerns and provide palliative care services on a consultative basis. The Palliative Care physican(s) will be available for additional consultation, collaboration, or referral. Qualifications: - MSN from an accredited nursing school and current State of Oklahoma licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in good standing. - A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in healthcare with the ideal candidate having practiced in a medical specialty involved in the care and treatment of patients diagnosed with serious, advanced, or terminal illnesses (Hematology & Oncology, Hospital Medicine, Critical Care, or Hospice and Palliative Medicine). - Candidates will be able to obtain hospital privileges and CPR certified. - Additionally, candidates must be certified by American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and/or The National Board for Certification of Hospice and Palliative Nurses (NBCHPN- Certification for Hospice and Palliative ADVANCED PRACTICE NURSES) is preferred. - If not certified by the NBCHPN, certification will be expected to be completed within a time period agreed upon between hospital administration and the employee. - A candidate will maintain a valid drivers license, personal vehicle for on- the-job transportation, and evidence of insurance coverage as required by the hospital. - Knowledge of the Hospice and Palliative Medicine (HPM) standard practices. - Knowledge of the HPM interdisciplinary team concept. - Knowledge of current methods and procedures for the delivery of HPM subspecialty medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of seriously ill patients. - Knowledge of HPM health professions education, certification, and practice. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. - Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements. - Knowledge of patient electronic medical record and obtaining patient histories. - Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures. - Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards. - Demonstration of leadership skills. - Excellent organizational skills. - Ability to work with detailed and confidential material.
