2023 Bluestaq Software Development Summer Internship Cohort
Position: Seasonal Software Development Intern
Program Duration:Â Our internship cohort will begin on Thursday, June 1, 2023, and will end no later than Thursday, August 31, 2023.
Deadline to Apply: September 12, 2022.
Position Type:Â Temporary, Seasonal, Non-Exempt, Hourly
Salary Range:Â In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the hourly rate for this role is $17.00 to $25.00. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
Location: Downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado. This is not a remote position; our 2023 Seasonal Interns will work on-site in the Bluestaq office.
Housing:Â Dormitory housing options will be available at a reduced cost for our summer 2023 internship participants.
Relocation: This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
Additional Compensation:Â There is no additional compensation for this position.
Employment Benefits: This position is not eligible for employment benefits such as 401k, Medical, Dental, or Vision Insurance etc. However, this position is eligible for sick pay as per the Colorado Healthy Families & Workplaces Act (HFWA).

Bluestaq is searching for software development interns who are eager to join our talented team.
Bluestaq is an emerging software company located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Our team specializes in cloud-based enterprises, data management, information security, modeling and simulation, and artificial intelligence.
Our unique software development internships offer exceptional opportunities for you to grow your technical and non-technical skills. From day one, you will work with experienced engineers and designers who love their job. Interns at Bluestaq are exposed to many technologies, not just fixed on one specific technology stack. You'll have an opportunity to work with Java, Angular, Python, Groovy, REST Services, Elasticsearch, Jenkins, GIT, PostgreSQL, Mongo, Athena, NiFi, Quarkus, and Hadoop.
We are looking for self-starting, ambitious individuals who aren't afraid to challenge assumptions and learn new skills. You must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail is important as well.
Desired Qualifications of a Bluestaq Software Development Seasonal Intern
- Software Development experience (coding camps, projects etc.)
- Experience with Java
- Experience with scripting languages like JavaScript, Typescript, and Bash
- A general understanding of both front-end and back-end technologies
- An understanding of data storage solutions (RDS, Document stores, graph store, Hadoop)
- Familiarity with cloud-based concepts
Required Education:Â Ideal internship candidates should be actively working towards a degree in the following areas: Computer Science, Mathematics, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or relevant field/industry. High school students at least 16 years of age or older, with an interest in the degree programs detailed above, may also apply for consideration.
Clearance Requirement:Â This position requires the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance. To be eligible for a clearance, US Citizenship is required, and an employee must agree to participate in a background screen and credit check.
