Summary
About the Position:
This position is located in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
This position is restricted to persons entitled to Veterans' Preference; if there are no Veteran's preference eligible applicants available, non-preference applicants may be considered.

Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
Direct deposit of pay is required.
One year trial or probationary period may be required.
Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
One year supervisory probation period may be required.
This position requires a Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age.
A pre-placement medical examination is required.
Work may include assignment to first or second shift.
Call-back and emergency overtime may be required of this position.
Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds is required.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Custodial Worker Supervisor without more than normal supervision. Providing guidance on cleaning safety and/or housekeeping rules; distributing work to others; and providing work status updates. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading)
Ability To Lead or Supervise
Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment
Dexterity and Safety
Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean and in order)
Physical Effort: Occasionally uses heavy powered cleaning equipment (e.g., industrial type buffers). Occasionally exerts moderately heavy physical effort such as that required in lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds, requiring continuous standing, bending, stooping and reaching. Requires working on ladders/scaffold in the performance of some duties. Weight handling equipment is available.
Working Conditions: Usually works indoors in areas which are adequately heated, lighted, and ventilated. Exposed to vibration from heavy equipment and to skin irritation from strong cleaning solutions. Care must be taken to avoid serious injury when working on ladders and scaffolds or when using heavy powered equipment. Safety equipment is available.

Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
Salary is based on the local prevailing rate.
