Summary This is a TERM appointment (not-to-exceed 4 years). This position is located in the VA Portland Health Care System at the Portland VA Medical Center in Portland, OR. The Selective Placement Factor for this position is: Selective Placement Factor (SPF): Experience reviewing and assessing grant proposals for a national research program within a healthcare organization SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least 1 year of SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE at the next lower grade level (GS 13) in Federal Service that includes performing the following duties: Leads and supports implementation of a national strategic plan.; Participates in the management of current and future research projects annually.; Speaks frequently in various public settings on the goals and activities.; Supervises all staff members.; Interviews and selects candidates for subordinate positions.; Designs, develops, and implements targeted practices to enhance rural access to care. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform portions of the work. However, there is periodic walking; standing; bending; carrying light items such as medical records, instructional material, books and material, book and manuals. Physical demands related to frequent travel under normal travel conditions may include jetlag and increased walking depending on the location and circumstances.
