Summary Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Must possess high school diploma or GED. (Bachelor's degree preferred) Must have a minimum of one year experience in a professional leadership role, managing, planning, organizing, and administering fitness or group fitness instructors, classes and events. Must possess a Fitness certification (Personal Training or Group Fitness):  a.    American Council on Exercise (ACE)  b.    American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)  c.    National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)  d.    National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Must have current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification. Must be able to accommodate flexible work schedule to include weekends, holidays, and nighttime. Must be able to obtain a Government Operating Vehicle License within 30 days of hire. Must be able to perform prolonged standing and walking, moderate to heavy lifting and carrying objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance Must be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries and State Criminal History Repository Check (Tier 1) with Childcare background checks which are required     for positions that involve working with children under 18 years of age. Must be able to obtain and maintain a health card. All candidates applying for this position must hold a physical fitness certification issued by an organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). Please be aware that the accreditation status of certifications can change over time. MCCS will verify all certifications against the current NCCA-accredited organization listing at the time of application review to ensure eligibility. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of principles, concepts, and techniques in a variety of group fitness classes to include, but not limited to, specialty classes such as Zumba, Mixxed Fit, yoga, Pilates, etc. Demonstrated ability to carry out and facilitate a variety of fitness classes through proper application of the following knowledge and techniques to include proper body alignment, proper exercise technique, proper breathing, heart rate evaluation, proper use of equipment and machines, cueing, attire, components of physical fitness, legal responsibilities, principles of training and class monitoring, etc. Experience and ability to devise existing group fitness classes or design and develop new classes for promoting physical and mental health to improve the quality of life for the participants. Ability to express oneself orally and in writing in a highly professional manner to speak with diversified groups and individuals in conducting classes. Knowledgeable in the operation of ordinary office equipment such as computers, copy machines, and computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc. Exceptional customer focused skills to include ability to address participants¿ needs and resolve issues with tact and diplomacy; interpersonal skills to listen to and show concerns and respect for participants.
