2D Game Artist

MetaVenture Studios, a subsidiary of GrowYourBase Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and creative 2D Game Artist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for bringing the Head of Studio’s game visions to life in the form of concept art, promo art, turnarounds, line art, final renders, and other game art-related tasks. As a 2D Game Artist, you will work closely with our team to bring ideas to life. You must understand the process and requirements in drawing 2D to translate into 3D models in the form of turnarounds and multi-angle illustrations with precise linework and scaling.

To succeed in this role, you should be able to draw in multiple styles and be comfortable in drawing environments, characters, pets, machinery, monsters, weapons, and other game-related content needed for making a game. You should also be able to take direction and feedback from team members and adapt your work accordingly. WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Work closely with the head of the studio to bring their vision to life

• Responsible for creating 2D character designs, props, buildings, weapons, vehicles, robots, animals, environments, and other game-related content needed

• UI: Work on buttons, banners, posters, billboards, decals, stamps, badges, and more

• Work closely with game designers and model makers

• Work to meet the GDD specs

• Aim for high-quality and polished work

• Attend team meetings to brainstorm and discuss projects

• Collaborate with team members to ensure a fluid game development process

Education/ Years of Experience

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Art

• 2+ years of relevant experience in the gaming industry

• Has previously worked on shipped games to the market

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics (KSAO’s)

• Understand composition, lighting, and color theory

• Strong skills in adapting art styles

• Skilled sketch/concept work, clean line art, and solid render finishing

• Able to work independently or collaboratively

• Exceptional visual, verbal, and written communication skills

• Able to multitask, organize, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

• Can quickly adapt to shifting priorities, and can handle multiple priorities at one time, while also demonstrating vigilance in keeping projects moving forward and hitting deadlines

• Excellent attention to detail

• Work with an international team across multiple timezones
