Job Description
Summary
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This position serves as the for the Lower Granite Natural Resources Management office in Clarkston Washington.
This is a permanent-seasonal position with expected non-pay status from approx. November - February each year.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A pre-employment physical is required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Position requires employee to wear uniform and/or protective clothing.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- Subject to emergency work performed outside of normal duty hours.
- The incumbent must possess or be able to acquire first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and blood-borne pathogen training within six (6) months or the first season of employment.
- This is a seasonal position.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience monitoring and interacting with visitors and enforcing park rules and regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-4).
OR
Education: Full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with twenty-four semester hours of related course work in natural resource management, natural sciences, earth sciences, history, archeology, anthropology, park and recreation management, law enforcement/police science, social sciences, museum sciences, business administration, public administration, behavioral sciences, sociology, or other closely related subjects pertinent to the management and protection of natural and cultural resources.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. - This is a seasonal appointment that runs from March to November each year.
