Supervisory Social Worker - PTSD Clinical Team (PCT)

Summary The Program Manager is responsible for management of all administrative and clinical aspects of the PTSD Clinical Teams (PCT) at the North Florida/South Georgia VAHCS, located primarily on site at Gainesville. The PCT Program Manager must form and maintain a cohesive team of staff from a variety of disciplines and supervisory chains of authority to ensure targeted and evidence-based efforts are employed to ensure the safety of the staff of NF/SGVHS and the Veterans we serve. Grade Determinations: In addition to meeting the basic requirements stated above, the following qualifications criteria must be met in determining the appropriate grade assignment of candidates. GS-13 Supervisory Social Workercandidates must have the following: Experience/Education: Must have at least one year of experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. Experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills in a specialty area or in administration demonstrating progressively more professional competency and judgment. Candidate may have certification or other post-master's degree training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship, or equivalent supervised professional experience. AND Licensure/Certification: Social workers must be licensed or certified by a state at the advanced practice level which included an advanced generalist or clinical examination, unless they are grandfathered by the state in which they are licensed to practice at the advanced practice level (except for licenses issued in California, which administers its own clinical examination for advanced practice) and they must be able to provide supervision for licensure. Ability to analyze organizational and operational problems, develop and implement solutions that result in efficient operations, and use data effectively to manage workload, quality, performance, and productivity within the service. Ability to provide staff training and development. Physical Requirements: The work requires patience and emotional regulation. The work may require using appropriate techniques to physically restrain patients who present a danger to self or others. The work may also require assisting physically disabled Veterans. Day-to-day work involves sitting, walking, standing and carrying light objects. Some of the work is performed in a setting away from the office, where the environment cannot be controlled.
