Summary
About the position: This position will be assigned to the - Little Rock AFB, AR -Child Development Center.
This position is guaranteed a minimum of 20 hours but can be scheduled to a maximum of 20-34 hours per week.
Physical Effort: Light to moderate physical effort in lifting up to 45 pounds or pushing carts. Constantly standing and walking.

This position requires the applicant to be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training.
This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.
This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain, maintain, and provide evidence of current immunizations this includes annual influenza vaccinations and be free of all communicable diseases.
This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:Must have adequate experience in preparing and serving nutritional foods for young children. Must have basic knowledge of food preparation principles and practical understanding of physical changes that occur during the processing and cooking of food. Must have ability to follow instructions, work safely, and do simple arithmetic. Must be able to follow USDA requirements. Must be willing to go through training required by the service regulation. Knowledge of operating and cleaning food service equipment and the ability to season food and decide when foods are done is required. Must have practical knowledge of methods and procedures necessary for ordering, issuing, and storing food items in accordance with inventory and sanitation requirements. Must be 18 years of age, hold a high school diploma or equivalent, have the ability to speak, read and write English. Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds with assistance. Must be able to obtain Food Handler's card and satisfactorily complete all pre-employment and investigative requirements.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
