Summary About the Position: This position is located at Army Health Clinic, Moncrief, Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Recruitment or relocation incentives MAY be authorized for highly qualified candidates. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Moncrief Army Health Clinic located on Fort Jackson, South Carolina. It is part of the 82 square mile military installation adjacent to the state capital of Columbia. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires that you obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing. This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire). This position requires the incumbent to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges. This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis. This position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel approximately 5% of the time away from your permanent duty station. This position will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption. Pre-appointment physical and annual physicals. This position is covered by Health Affairs Policy 97006, 23 October 1996, which requires you to obtain Hepatitis B Immunization unless exempted by a physician. This position may include shift work (evenings, weekends, holidays). Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes performing complex Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations of the head, spine, extremities, and body cavity including computerized 2D and 3D Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) Imaging of the vascular system; assisting with intravenous therapy; and providing support to radiologists and physicians in evaluating of x-ray results. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-7). Or Education: One and a half years of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Radiography or Radiologic sciences or Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technology. Or Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. Additional information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
