Summary
Operates heavy engineering equipment and performs major, routine, or emergency road and ground maintenance and construction. Position involves operation of both heavy road construction and snow removal equipment in mountain terrain under extremely adverse and hazardous conditions. Candidates must have current Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL).

A one-year probationary period may be required.
Position may require up to 90% travel.
Qualifications
To qualify, no specific length of experience or training is required; however, you must show evidence of experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality that demonstrates your ability to perform the duties of this position.
You MUST provide a NARRATIVE statement for each Demonstrated Ability. The narratives should be clear and concise, providing a description of your education, training and experience that would describe the degree to which you possess each Demonstrated Ability. Candidates must document possession of experience at the level of difficulty and responsibility appropriate to the position.
Eligible candidates will be ranked based on DEMONSTRATED ABILITIES, if applicable. In addition to the minimum qualifications, Demonstrated Ability number 1 has been determined to be a selective placement factor or "screen-out element" for this position. This means possession of this criterion is part of the minimum qualifications and is essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Applicants who do not possess this criterion are ineligible for further consideration.

Hourly wages are broken down by the wage area in which you would work:
FW-10
Watkins, Colorado: $31.36 to $36.57
Lovell, Wyoming: $31.79 to $37.11
FW-11
Watkins, Colorado: $32.94 to $38.45
Lovell, Wyoming: $33.68 to $39.29

WORKING CONDITIONS
Majority of work is accomplished at isolated locations and mountainous country during all seasons of the year. Working condition elevations range from sea level to an elevation of 12,000 feet. Temperatures range from 120 degrees to -30 degrees Fahrenheit, and work is performed in all types of weather without shelter. Winter months involve snow control operations in hazardous terrain to provide access to remote facilities. The remainder of the year entails rebuilding and maintaining FAA access roads whereby the operators are subjected to noise, dust, dirt, rough riding, exhaust fumes and potential rock or snow slides. Position may require up to ninety (90) per cent travel. A high-altitude physical is required.
PHYSICAL EFFORT
Heavy physical effort is used by the operator in constantly reaching, bending, turning, and moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to handle different sets of controls to operate the equipment and attachments. Operator is frequently required to work in awkward or strained positions.
Special Requirements: Position requires a state class A driver's license with applicable categories to be acquired within six months of employment.
