Binkley Requirements Conditions of Employment Alaska Air National Guard membership is required. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. U.S. Citizenship and Secret Clearance is required. Bargaining Unit: Non-Bargaining APPOINTMENT FACTORS: Excepted/Enlisted in the Alaska Air National Guard. MILITARY GRADE REQUIREMENT: Due to the nature of this position, the minimum military grade of this position is Senior Master Sergeant (SMSgt/E-8) and the maximum military grade is Chief Master Sergeant (CMSgt/E-9). Supervisors Desirables: Experience with KC-135 maintenance. Incumbent is subject to termination due to loss or reduction in funding for this position. Qualifications SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is experience which is directly related to the position to be filled and which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. WS-14 - Must have at least 36 months of experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting parts, subassemblies and components, and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification. In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience demonstrating the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments of lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establishing priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Resume must have complete dates and hours worked per week for each occurrence of both civilian and military employment (Example: 2 JAN 1980 to 3 MAR 1981; 0800-1630 M-F or JAN 1980 to MAR 1981; 40 hrs/wk) Use of year only will result in disqualification. Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Your experience will be evaluated on the basis of duties performed. Additional information - INDEFINITE: AKNG permanent technician will retain their permanent status if selected for this position, and may be promoted, reassigned or changed to lower grade if selected for this position, and will be required to return to their permanent position unless action is made on a permanent basis. Permanent authorization may not cross service boundaries, or funding categories, (i.e., ARNG to ANG, or 176th WG to 168th WG). Indefinite employees may be separated with a 30 days' notice. Indefinite employees may be converted to permanent without further competition. - If you are a current Federal employee or former Federal employee, you must submit a copy of your latest SF-50 "Notification of Personnel Action" and/or a copy of the SF-50. You may submit your most recent performance appraisal. - The National Guard is exempt from the Veterans Preference Act.
