Recreation Assistant-Programmer (Outdoor Recreation)

Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation at March Air Reserve Base, CA. The Primary Purpose of this position is to perform the full range of programming support work for the outdoor recreation center. This is a regular part-time position which means you are guaranteed to work at least 20 hours per week. Requirements Conditions of Employment This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles. This position may require the incumbent to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Qualifications Who May Apply: Open to everyone. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Progressive experience in planning, organizing, conducting and evaluating outdoor adventure programs or other practical experience which has provided a working familiarity and knowledge of the procedures and programs followed in group activities of a recreation program is desired. Must possess skill in dealing with public. Must be able to work being exposed to a variety of cold or hot weather. Must possess the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle with attached trailer. Must possess a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record with no major violations. Availability to work uncommon work schedule including weekends and holidays. Position is a position oftrust and is subject to satisfactory completion of a Tier I background check. This is a drug testing designation position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
