Summary The Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC), Mid-Atlantic Region - Naval Station Norfolk is looking for the best, brightest and most adventurous individuals to join our team as an Embedded Integrated Prevention Coordinator (EIPC). The EIPC will serve aboard a Nuclear-Powered Aircraft Carrier (CVN) or Large Deck Amphibious Assault Ship/ Landing Helicopter Assault Ship (LHD/LHA) Command, deploying with the ship and providing support services in-port or at sea. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must pass all applicable records and background check. Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment. This position is mission essential; incumbent may be required to travel, deploy, or provide services at homeport during a variety of crisis and disasters. The work schedule while deployed will vary depending on requirements. The incumbent will be on call 24 hours a day while deployed for crisis intervention situations. At sea, the incumbent shares a stateroom in officer berthing; meals are obtained by joining the Officers' Mess as a paying member, and meals are purchased by monthly billing. Incumbent will be required to deploy at sea on board US Navy ships. Deployment lengths will vary from a few days to over 10 months at a time. Due to the unique nature of the position, selectee will be required to complete a physical examination upon entry to duty and annually thereafter and be determined to be physical fit for shipboard duty at all times. Qualifications Resumes must include information which demonstrates experience and knowledge, skills, and ability (KSAs) as they relate to this position. A qualified candidate possesses the following: Knowledge, skills, and/or experience that demonstrate the incumbent's ability to work collaboratively to implement integrated prevention programs. Knowledge or experience that demonstrate incumbent's ability to appropriately identify, implement and evaluate prevention methodologies. Knowledge of the military language, customs, and culture to include navigating shipboard dynamics. Knowledge of the psychological and/or socioeconomic stresses caused by prolonged separations, which affect individuals, families, mission performance, and command readiness. Knowledge of FFSP mission, functions, policies, and procedures. Skills sufficient to provide technical assistance in prevention-related areas. Skill in delivery of education services, with a focus on human/personal growth and development. Skill in consulting with management to obtain or exchange information about work objectives, processes, procedures, and policies. Skill in networking and collaborating with all military services. Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to identify needs, trends, and performance measures to evaluate program effectiveness and provide recommendations for process improvements. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with all levels of management, staff, and military personnel. Ability to compose written reports and material clearly, concisely, and effectively. Ability to deliver evidenced-based prevention training/education to a wide variety of audiences. Ability to use data management and reporting systems to collect and organize data drawn from databases. Ability to maintain accurate statistical framework for program data collection and reports. Ability to meet and deal effectively with diversified groups, organizations and individuals and to maintain and establish clear relationships and lines of communication at all levels using tact and diplomacy in all interactions. Education A qualified candidate possesses the following: A bachelor's degree or higher in adult education, behavioral science, social science, or in a related behavioral science field AND three years of specialized experience related to the work of the position. OR A combination of education (in adult education, behavioral science, social science, or in a related behavioral science field) and specialized experience related to the work of the position.
