Summary This position is located at Fort Moore, Georgia with Child and Youth Services. This is a Regular Full-Time position that is eligible for leave accrual and benefits. Learn more about this agency Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be 18 years of age or older at time of appointment or placement into the position. Proof of education is required at the time of application. Good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease (verified through physical examination). Satisfactory performance, successful completion of training requirements and demonstrated on the job competency is required. Job requires working both in and outdoors. A one year probationary period may be required. Appointment is subject to completion of a favorable suitability determination. Any individual who was required to register with selective service and who has not registered or knowingly and willingly did not register before the requirement terminated or become inapplicable to the individual will not be appointed. Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation. Qualifications Successful completion of an undergraduate Degree that included or was supplemented by major study (at least 24 semester hours) in the fields appropriate (child development, early childhood education, home economics (with early childhood emphasis), elementary education, or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled. OR A combination of education and experience as follows: Successful completion of at least 24 semester hours in a major course of study in education or appropriate CYS field as indicated above, plus appropriate work experience that provided knowledge skills and abilities directly related to the duties described. In addition, all candidates must possess: 1. Twenty-four (24) months working in child and/or youth programs. 2. Program administration experience in child and youth programs (includes public schools and recreation program administration). 3. The ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions. 4. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English. 5. Comprehensive oral and communications skills and analytical writing skills, and the ability to present ideas and proposals to a variety of audiences. 6. The physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, stoop and stand on a routine basis. Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors. PCS Costs Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is in the Government's interest. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials - This is a pay-banded position. - Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
