Summary This position will be assigned to the Fitness Center at JBSA Fort Sam Houston located in San Antonio, TX This is a regular part-time position with guaranteed 20 hrs./wk., may work up to 40 hrs./wk. Scheduled as needed. This position is eligible for benefits. Requirements Conditions of Employment This position requires the incumbent to have resided in the United States for 3 years and reside in the commuting area of the vacancy location. This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results. This position has been identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent of this position will be subject to and must consent to a pre-employment and random drug testing. Must have a valid drivers license. This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 75 lbs. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: One year specialized experience of the operation and maintenance of indoor/outdoor fitness and recreation equipment. Must have experience which provides a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities and programs; and practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities, equipment, rules and procedures which involves recreational work in the area. Requires familiarity with operation of minor turf maintenance equipment (lawn tractors, mowers, equipment carts, etc.). Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):You qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Must be able to lift 75 pounds 2. Must be able to communicate in English 3. Must be able to follow instructions 4. Must be able to operate motor vehicles 5.
