Summary This position is for Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Watervliet Arsenal, New York. FMWR includes Child and Youth Services, Business Recreation, and Support Services, which enable Soldier readiness, support the resiliency and well-being of Soldiers and Families. Requirements Conditions of Employment Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. A one year probationary period may be required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. An employer referred pre-employment physical examination is required. This position requires a favorably adjudicated T1/NACI background investigation. Must be willing to accept intermittent, on-call employment. Must be physically able to lift and move items weighing up to 40 pounds; subject to continuous standing and walking, frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending; work on ladders and use powered cleaning equipment. Management reserves the right to reassign employees to other facilities. The incumbent will be required to work Monday-Thursday and off every other Friday (RDO). Ability to complete food sanitation and safety training within the first thirty (30) days of employment and on an annual basis thereafter. Qualifications Qualified candidates will possess the following: ability to understand and follow simple instructions, AND ability to use hand tools for cleaning and operating simple machines, AND ability to perform tasks involving several procedures and concentrate on work assignments despite interruptions and distractions, AND knowledge of basic food handling techniques, personal hygiene standards and safe work procedures, AND knowledge of basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals, such as counting the number of tables in order to determine the number of portions or meals required, or how many servings a particular container will yield. All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
