Job Description
Summary
Support the Military's Quality of Life programs! The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees. This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Community Recreation, and Deployed Support Branch; Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations command (CNIC); NAS Whidbey Island.

Successful completion of National Agency Background (NACI) Check required.
This position may require the incumbent to be available to work special events, weekends and holidays.
A valid state driver’s license.
This position is required to do considerable standing, bending, stooping, walking, pushing, reaching, climbing and lifting of objects weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted.
Must be able to obtain and maintain food handler’s certification, CPR and First Aid within 90 days of hire.
Work may require climbing in and around equipment, moving towable equipment and organization of seasonal equipment and supplies.
Qualifications
Ability to work independently
One year of practical work experience.
Ability to organize, plan, administer special events and entertainment activities
Knowledge of goals, principles and techniques and procedures used in organizing, planning and conducting leisure time activities. Knowledge of the Navy MWR mission and entire scope of Community Recreation activities and their suitability for individuals, groups, ages and interests
Individual must be responsible with a pleasant, courteous attitude who can communicate effectively with the public
Will need to collect and accurately record cash transactions, and operate a cash register.
Schedule can include nights, weekends and holidays
Education
There is no educational requirement for this position.
Additional information
Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. Some positions have special requirements. Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period.
Participation in Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer within the first 30 days of employment is required. We utilize E-Verify to confirm selectee's eligibility to work in the United States.
