Summary This position is located within the Veteran Transportation Service (VTS) and will operate within the Service located at the Tomah VA Medical Center in Tomah, WI. The incumbent will work with the VTS Supervisory Mobility Manager. Qualifications SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE-GS-6: Must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-5 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes: contacts patients to determine transportation needs and requirements, assists patients and family members in completing necessary paperwork for all arranged transportation and lodging, performs regular reconciliations and adjusting account balances related to special mode transportation services, documents the funds, deposits, and withdraws of patient's personal funds held by the Medical Center during brief and extended periods of hospitalization, coordinates patient transfer to other medical facility ensuring patient arrives on time for admission, and works with multiple computer technology, software and databases to enter data, prepare various correspondence and reports. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position: Computer Skills Control of Funds Customer Service (Clerical/Technical) Medical Information IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Requirements: : Incumbent will be exposed to stressful working situations that require professional attitude and collective reasoning. The incumbent is subject to a high volume of work, the need for accuracy, frequency of interruptions and ever-changing demands due to program changes.
