Summary This position is located at Dinning facilities on Kilauea Military Camp (KMC) Hawaii Volcanoes National Parks, Big Island, Hawaii. Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually. Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2. Must meet state/local age (18) requirements at the time of appointment if serving alcoholic beverages. Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities. Work is normally performed inside with adequate lighting and heat. Care is required to avoid serious injury in food preparation and storage areas. Frequently lifts and moves items weighing up to 40. Requires constantly standing, stooping, bending, walking and reaching. Selected applicant must be able to pass a Medical Physical Examination. Must be able to work an Irregular Schedule Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: 1. Experience or training that indicates knowledge skills and ability to perform the duties of this position. 2. Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English and possess basic math skills. 3. Able to bend, stoop, walk, and reach frequently. 4. FWS Allowances and Differentials This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position. All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee. Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800.
