Custodial Worker Leader (Lead Housekeeper)

Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the 92 Force Support Squadron, Fairchild Inn, Fairchild AFB, WA. As a working leader, performs the following duties: Distributes and balances workload among employees. Observes work in progress, production, adherence to quality and safety standards. Instructs and trains new employees. This is a Regular Part time position; guaranteed 20-34 hours per week; depending on the needs of the facility. This position has been identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent of this position will be subject to and must consent to a pre-employment and random drug testing. This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical. This position requires the incumbent to possess and maintain a valid state Driver's License to operate vehicles. Qualifying Experience: Ability to lead 3 or more custodial workers to accomplish housekeeping assignments. Must have functional experience and demonstrated knowledge of facility/equipment in housekeeping and the ability to build teams and work with others. Experience and knowledge of housekeeping principles and practices. Ability to plan, coordinate, and time sequence steps needed to meet time constraints of work assignments. Experience and knowledge must have been gained either in a military lodging program or commercial hotel/motel. Ability to follow oral or written instructions and speak English. Physically able to frequently lift and empty wastebaskets; frequently push carts, weighing more than 100 pounds, loaded with dirty laundry or wastepaper; and occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds. Ability to continuously stand, bend, stoop, and reach for long periods of time. Condition(s) of Employment: Employee must have a valid driver's license. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required. "This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use." Physical Effort: The work involves light physical effort, such as that involved in using vacuum cleaners and dry mops; running lightweight powered scrubbers and buffers; continually standing, bending, stooping, and reaching; frequently lifting and emptying wastebaskets; frequently pushing carts, weighing more than 100 pounds, loaded with dirty laundry or wastepaper; occasionally lifting and carrying items weighing up to 20 pounds. Working Conditions: Usually works indoors in a well-lighted and heated facility, but may occasionally work outdoors. Exposed to dirt, disagreeable odors, and possibility of minor injuries (cuts and bruises). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position DOES NOT allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
