Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a INSPECTOR GENERAL (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T5868000 and is part of the IL 183 WG, National Guard. Requirements Conditions of Employment IAW The Fair Chance Act, Agency employees may not request criminal history information at the point of initial application, upon receipt of an application, or prior to, during or after a job interview. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. May be required to successfully complete a trial period. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. This position requires a secret security clearance; the incumbent of this position must obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Work may require access to higher classified information. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance. Employee will be required to wear and use personal protective equipment as required and provided by the employer. This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP). The employee is subject to random drug testing. Pre-employment drug testing and participation in random drug testing is a condition of employment. IAW AF guidance, incumbent must complete the wing Inspector General Training Course Inspections (IGTC-I) within 180 days of appointment; must complete Inspector General Training Course Complaints Resolution (IGTC-Q) within 180 days of appointment. Successful completion of other courses will be accomplished IAW applicable DoD, AF, and NGB regulations. This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program. DD Form 3145-2 Checklist In accordance with section 9902(h) of title 5, United States Code, annuitants reemployed in the Department of Defense shall receive full annuity and salary upon appointment. They shall not be eligible for retirement contributions, participation in the Thrift Saving Plan, or a supplemental or redetermined annuity for the reemployment period. Discontinued service retirement annuitants (i.e., retired under section 8336 (d) 1) or 8414 (b) (1) (A) of title 5, United States Code) appointed to the Department of Defense may elect to be subject to retirement provisions of the new appointment as appropriate. Qualifications AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of consideration for this position, Title 5 Excepted Service, will be in the following manner and sequence: The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be candidates who match through the Priority Placement Program (PPP). The SECOND area of consideration will be Veterans' Preference (VP) eligible. The THIRD area of consideration will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG. The FOURTH area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees. The FIFTH area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible. The SIXTH area of consideration will be U.S. Citizens. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-13 Level- MUST possess the specialized experience which includes 1 year at the lower-level GS-12, providing general administrative direction and establish broad objectives for inspection planning; inspection execution; new programs; and for interpreting, developing, and implementing Air Force inspection policy; planning and organizing assigned programs, estimating unit resources, capabilities, and objectives; coordinate with staff and line management personnel, resolve conflicts that arise, and conduct all phases of assigned projects; definitive interpretation of regulations and procedures, and the initial application of new methods; inform the supervisor of potentially controversial findings, issues, or problems with widespread impact. SPECIALIZED SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE: MUST possess the experience in managing the function of the work to be performed' experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Verbiage displayed on your resume or application must contain your own words.
