Recreation Assistant (Outdoor Recreation)

Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation at March Air Reserve Base. The primary function of the position is to perform duties in taking reservations, recording attendance, collecting fees, equipment care, customer service, and sales of the Outdoor Recreation. This is a flexible position which means you may work between 0-40 hours per week. Requirements Conditions of Employment This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results. This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles. This position may require the incumbent to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Qualifications Who May Apply: Open to everyone. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Applicant must have experience which provides a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs, and practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities and equipment, rules and procedures in a recreation program activity which has involved recreation work in the area of specialty in which position is assigned. Requires ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Skill in dealing with the public. Physically able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds and be able to occasionally lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Requires possession of a valid state motor vehicle license. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
