Switchboard Supervisor Position Summary

The Communications Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Console Operators and their daily operations who provide routine and emergency communications for the organization. The role liaises to the Medical Staff Office, remote physician offices, employees of TidalHealth, and the public when concerns related to the Console Operators arise. This role will be the System Administrator and responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the organization’s database and directory systems. The Supervisor will also represent the Communications Department and attend all meetings relating to the Emergency Operations Committee.

Switchboard Supervisor Position Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required,  Associate’s Degree preferred. Extensive work experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements on a case-by-case basis.

Experience

• 2 years of experience in communications or related field required.
• Experience in a call center or customer service preferred
• 2 years of experience supervising employees preferred.
• Experience in Information Technology, database layouts, and structures required.
• Familiarity with database systems such as Spok, SharePoint, Epic Secure Chat, QGenda, and others as assigned preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required.
• Ability to work with multiple vendors and change the health system communications database.
• Must possess excellent office automation skills.

Switchboard Supervisor Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• Available for after hours and/or weekends as circumstances dictate.

Switchboard Supervisor Benefits 

• At TidalHealth, team members working at least 36 hours per pay period based on 12-hour shift schedules or at least 37.5 hours for non 12-hour shift schedules and part-time team members working at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits.
