Summary
About the Position: This position is within the Defense Health Agency, located in Martin Army Community Hospital at Fort Moore, Georgia. Incumbent is responsible for the receipt, storage and issuance of a wide range of food supplies within the Nutrition Care Division of the facility.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
Lifting up to 40 pounds may be required.
This position may require the incumbent to work on any day or shift, including PMs, nights, weekends, holidays, or on an "on call" basis, necessary to meet mission requirements.
This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Materials Handler ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common materials handler tasks such as moving items or supplies according to storage requirements; monitoring supply stock levels on a daily basis; evaluating space requirements for maximizing storage capacity; entering equipment details into an inventory management system. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort: Performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas that requires standing, stooping, bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries various supply items that weigh up to 40 pounds and may be difficult to grasp. May occasionally handle items that weigh over 40 pounds using hand truck or with assistance.
Working Conditions: Tasks are performed indoors and outdoors and occasionally require exposure to bad weather conditions. Storage areas may be hot, cold, damp, drafty, poorly ventilated and lighted. Work is sometimes dirty, dusty and greasy. Is subject to cuts, scrapes, bruises and broken bones as a result of accidents.

Additional information
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
One year trial/probationary period may be required.
Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
