Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study from an accredited college or university in the field of general recreation, or one of the appropriate fields of recreation such as outdoor recreation, physical education; OR, a minimum of three years of progressively more responsible administrative, managerial, and professional work involved in one or more specialty areas, e.g., fitness, recreational, sports in athletics program.
- Must have one year of supervisory experience.
- Must have one year of experience in proper application of recreational and athletic program principles.
- Demonstrated ability to manage staff and budget to achieve established goals and objectives.
- Must have or be able to obtain within 6 months a NCCA Certification such as: ACE, AFAA, NSCA, ACSM, or NASM Certification.
- Proficient computer skills include Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- A valid Government Owned Vehicle (GOV) operator¿s permit is required for the performance of duties for this position. Inability to obtain or maintain appropriate GOV licensing may result in termination for lack of qualifications. The incumbent is required to obtain required GOV licenses within 30 days of hire.
- Must have or be able to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
- Demonstrated ability of excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a health card.
