Summary

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies in the Naval Acquisition Development Program (NADP) with Naval Sea Systems Command.   • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.

In addition to the basic education requirements, applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:

FOR THE GS-09:
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Understanding and completing limited engineering or architectural designs and projects; carrying out, interpreting, and explaining basic computations and calculations; and reading, understanding, manipulating analyzing, interpreting, and conveying findings.

FOR THE GS-07: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Understanding and completing limited engineering or architectural designs and projects.

In lieu of specialized experience you can use the following education to qualify for this position:

GS-09:
2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree OR master's OR equivalent graduate degree.
OR
A combination of Superior Academic Achievement (S.S.A.) and 1 year of appropriate professional experience.

GS-07:
Superior Academic Achievement (S.S.A.) at the baccalaureate level in an engineering program is qualifying for GS-7.
OR
1 year of graduate-level education.

Note, S.A.A. is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership.

  1. Class standing -- Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision based on completed courses.
  2. Grade-point average (G.P.A.) -- Applicants must have a grade-point average of:
    • 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or
    • 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2years of the curriculum.
  3. Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society - Applicants can be considered eligible based on membership in one of the national scholastic honor societies recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies
