Summary
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Serves as a Senior Engineering Technician in the Detroit Project Office, at Historic Fort Wayne. Works independently under the broad supervision of the Chief of Operations receiving assignments in terms of broad objectives.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Position requires Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) at least 25% of the duty time.
Position requires a pre-employment physical exam due to the physical requirements of the position.
This position requires the incumbent to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Position requires a valid State motor vehicle operator's license prior to appointment and maintain the license for the duration of employment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify for the position, your resume must reflect:
GS-12 Specialized Experience:I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal Service which includes, processing hydrographic and topographic survey data to establish or compute parameters for use in making engineering computations associated with yardage estimates, shoaling rates, cross sections, and other related engineering functions to include developing schedules and budgets for survey equipment and instrument procurement based on typical life cycles and advances in technology, overseeing group survey equipment, ensuring calibrations are scheduled and completed around work requirements.

One year trial/probationary period may be required.
