Summary This position is for Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum, New York. FMWR includes Child and Youth Services, Business Recreation, and Support Services, which enable Soldier readiness, support the resilience and well-being of Soldiers and Families. A one year probationary period may be required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. Exposed to drafts, noise, fumes, dirt and grease and automotive fluids that may cause irritation form chemicals. Required to follow safety procedures and use standard safety equipment such as gloves, ear protectors and safety glasses and exercise proper handling of equipment and hazardous materials to avoid serious injury in the work area. Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with Army Regulation 215-3. This position requires a favorably adjudicated T1/NACI background investigation. A one-year Supervisory probationary period may be required. Work schedule will be irregular. The incumbent will be required to work, nights, weekends, holidays, and/or unique events. Qualifications Qualified candidates will possess the following: working knowledge of performing automotive repairs, providing instruction to patrons in automotive maintenance and repair, use and operate shop tools and equipment to perform a variety of tasks, AND the ability to read, understand, and apply instructions and other materials (job aids, pamphlets etc.), AND experience leading or supervising a work team/crew. PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are NOT authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is NOT in the Government's interest. FWS Allowances and Differentials This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position. All FWS employees are entitled to overtime pay for working more than 8 hours per day or more than 40 hours per workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee. Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. An FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of their regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between 1500 and 2400. An employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between 2300-0800. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will NOT be paid. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will NOT be paid.
