Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Maintenance Department at University Inn Lodging on Maxwell/Gunter AFB, Alabama. This position is a Regular Part-Time. You are guaranteed 20 hours, however you could work up to 34 hours per week. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license. This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results. Pre-employment physical examination "This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to a random testing for drug use." Qualifications Who May Apply: Open to everyone. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience:Ability to lead three (3) or more workers to accomplish maintenance duties of this position. Demonstrates arithmetic aptitude and ability to use measuring and leveling devices. Must have general knowledge of carpentry, painting, and general maintenance experience, or a directly related area, which provides knowledge of kinds of work performed. Must have a working knowledge of various power tools. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to lift up to and including 50 pounds, over 50 pounds with assistance. Must be able to operate up to two and one-half (2 ½) ton truck. The applicant must be able to meet all physical requirements described in the position description and must be able to obtain any required motor vehicle operator licenses. Must be available to take emergency lock out and emergency maintenance calls if placed on an oncall status. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.
