Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
A one year probationary period may be required.
Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, Chapter 2 to include a medical examination.
Incumbent may be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
Incumbent must be willing and able to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds.
Incumbent must be willing and able to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
Incumbent must be willing and able to satisfactory complete a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
Incumbent must be willing and able to operate, disassemble and clean basic food service equipment such as griddles, broilers, and food grinders.
Incumbent must be able to follow written and verbal instructions, particularly standard recipes, and detailed cooking instructions.
Incumbent must be able to perform basic arithmetic (e.g., add, subtract, multiply etc.) to measure ingredients in a recipe.
Working Conditions: Employee is exposed to steam, fumes, odors from cooking, and to extreme temperature changes when entering walk-in refrigerators or freezing units. Must stand on tile floor, subject to burns, cuts, and slipping on wet floors.
Physical Effort: Work involves continual standing and walking, frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending. Must be able to lift 40 pounds unassisted, and occasionally lift or move objects weighing over 40 pounds with the assistance.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Work experience in preparing foods and cooking simple foods and short orders in a cafeteria, restaurant, or mess.
Demonstration of the following work behavior is desirable:
Neatness and good grooming.
Dependability.
Ability to work under pressure.

HIGHLY PREFFERED:
Possess six (6) months or more of cooking experience in a dining establishment.

PCS Costs
Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are NOT authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move IS NOT in the Government's interest.
FWS Allowances and Differentials
This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
