Summary About the position: This position will be located at the Riverview Event Center on JBLE-Langley AFB, VA. This is a Flexible position guaranteed 0 hours per week but can be scheduled for up to 40 hours per week. The purpose of this position is to perform manual labor tasks involving the use of common hand tools and simple power equipment. Requirements Conditions of Employment This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results. This position requires the incumbent to possess a valid state drivers license and provide a copy of driving record. This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete a pre-employment physical. This is a drug testing position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. This position may be subject to nights, days, weekends, Holidays and on-call work. This position requires the incumbent to be 18 years old. Qualifications Who May Apply: Open to everyone. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Experience in operating one or more gasoline, diesel, or electric powered wheeled vehicles with a GVW of up to 10,000 pounds such as pickup trucks, sedans, vans, jeeps, etc. Experience of defensive driving techniques is desired, including skills to recognize developing hazardous road and traffic conditions and the judgement to select alternate routes to avoid potential problems. Ability to use, control, and clean common hand tools, and simple power equipment. Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry medium to heavy objects up to 40 pounds and be able to occasionally lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds. Must be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. Additional information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation or a signed memorandum indicating the installation's decision on the 3-year residency requirement.
