Summary
This National Guard position is for a POLICE OFFICER (INDEF) (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2156000and is part of the 151st SFS located in Salt Lake City, with the Utah Air National Guard.
This vacancy priority is those who are current military members of the Utah Air National Guard.
The selecting supervisor for this vacancy is SMSgt Tyson L. Mayfield.
Indefinite Position with the possibility to convert to Permanent at a future date without further competition.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:
Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. National Guard Membership is required.
Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license.
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
Medical screening will be completed upon selection for hire.
Soldiers who accept a technician position may be terminated from the Bonus and Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP).
Potential for Incentive Pay.
This position is eligible to be in the union.
This position has been identified as a designated position under the Air Force Drug Testing Plan. Incumbent(s) of this position is/are subject to the possibility of a random drug test.
Must qualify and remain qualified in the use of required weapons, as the incumbent will be required to use firearms in performing duties.
This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
The incumbent must wear a DAF Police Officer uniform as identified in the DAF Police AFI and required to meet dress and appearance standards when supporting non-DoD agencies IAW the Abidal Status technicians, military uniform will be worn at the discretion of the SFS commander.
Must work an uncommon tour of duty, to include nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, rotating shifts, and recall.
Must wear approved protective clothing such as body armor/ballistic plates, helmets, personal protective equipment, coats, boots, traffic vests and/or chemical protective equipment, (e.g., respirator mask).
Incumbent will be exposed to the day-to-day dangers associated with law enforcement and security duties..
Qualifications

Specialized Experience:
Knowledge of security and security forces requirements, procedures, and tactics to support installation physical security.
Knowledge of firearms and tactics for employing them in emergency situations.
Knowledge of principles and techniques of instruction used in combat arms weapons training and firing range instruction.
Knowledge of combat arms facilities management, including maintenance, classrooms, firing range structures, munitions buildings, and weapon vaults.
Knowledge of safety, security, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to train and evaluate instructors and students in the classroom on instruction techniques of assigned weapons.
Knowledge of Security Forces' procedures and operating methods to independently perform the full range of Security Forces activities, to include protection level resources, installation entry controls, armed responses and dispatch duties.
Ability to directly provide budget input.
Knowledge of small arms and maintenance requirements.
Knowledge of Air Force supply and equipment systems.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with SF branch/section chiefs, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful mission accomplishments.
Knowledge of applicable Air Force, Department of Defense law enforcement, and security rules, regulations, instructions, practices, principles and procedures, including force protection, integrated base defense, anti-terrorism, and physical security.
Knowledge of police officer procedures and operating methods to independently perform the full range of Security Forces activities, to include protection level resources, installation entry controls, armed responses and dispatch duties.
