Learn more about this agency Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications C&Y Program Assistant (Entry Level-GSE2) CY-1 Minimum Qualifications:  Successfully complete:  a local installation records check as applicable, state criminal history checks, initiation and completion of a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) and a Defense Clearance and Investigations Index for re-verification for employees who provide child care services.  Ability to satisfactorily complete all required training and demonstrate competencies according to established timeframes to retain employment status.  Be able to lift and carry children and objects up to 45lbs independently and over 45lbs with assistance.  Be 18 years of age, have the ability to speak, read and write English, follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively orally and in writing.  Be physically and mentally capable of providing care for children, pass health screenings annually to show good physical and mental health and freedom from communicable disease to include up-to-date immunizations, test for Tuberculosis and any other tests deemed necessary and appropriate by local medical authorities per MCO 1710.30E.  Must be able to obtain current food handler¿s certification, CPR and first aid certifications.  Prior experience working with children, or youth preferred.  May be required to obtain a valid driver¿s license C&Y Program Assistant (Intermediate Level-GSE3) CY-1  Minimum Qualifications:  Six months prior experience working with children or youth in a day care setting.  Skill to interpret and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and practices under immediate supervision to provide direct care, education and development for children and youth.  Successfully complete:  a local installation records check as applicable, state criminal history checks, initiation and completion of a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) and a Defense Clearance and Investigations Index for re-verification for employees who provide child care services.  Successful completion of all required training for Program Assistant (Entry Level).  Ability to satisfactorily complete all required training and demonstrate competencies according to established timeframes to retain employment status. C&Y Program Assistant (Upper Level-GSE4) CY-2 MInimum Qualifications:  One year prior experience working with children, youth or teens in a day care setting is required. Six months of this experience must have been.at the GSE-03 level or private sector equivalent. Possess a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Military School Age (MSA) credential, or a two year degree in a related field, or complete the USMC Children, Youth and Teen Standardized Module Training. Skill to interpret and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and practices under immediate supervision to provide direct care, education and development for children, youth and teens. Successful completion of all required training for Program Assistant (Entry and Intermediate Level). Successfully complete: Installation Records Checks, a local military police installation records check, State criminal history checks, initiation and completion of a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) and a five year re-verification for employees who provide child care services. Ability to satisfactorily complete all required training and demonstrate competencies according to established timeframes to retain employment status. Be 18 years of age, have the ability to speak, read and write English, follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively orally and in writing. Be physically and mentally capable of providing care for children, pass health screenings annually to show good physical and mental health and freedom from communicable disease to include up-to-date immunizations, test for Tuberculosis and any other tests deemed necessary and appropriate by local medical authorities per MCO 1710.30E. Possess or be able to obtain a valid commercial driver¿s license (CDL), current food handler¿s certification, CPR and first aid certifications. Prior experience working with children, youth or teens preferred. The work involves every day risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of a wide variety of child activities, programs and services, such as exposure to disease or injuries from lifting children or supplies up to 40 pounds. Office areas are adequately lighted, heated and ventilated. Note:  This position is identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP).  The incumbent is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.  Duties must be performed with a high level of productivity, reliability and judgement to prevent adversely affecting personnel safety, and causing risk/damage to government property, and/or significant adverse impact to day-to-day operations.
