Information Technology Specialist

Summary This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Air Force Services Center at Port San Antonio, TX. This is a regular full-time category position with guaranteed 40 hrs. per week. Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits. Requirements Conditions of Employment This position requires the incumbent to complete a Tier 3 background investigation with favorable results. Per DoDM 8140.03, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate foundational and resident qualification requirements within nine months of assignment and resident qualification requirements within twelve months of assignment. This position requires that the incumbent be a U.S. Citizen or a Legal U.S. Resident for a minimum of 3 years. Qualifications Who May Apply: Open to everyone. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience analyzing complexities of existing technology to review and revise, develop policy, initiate plans for enhancements and provide management sufficient technical and cost analysis information through written documentation and oral briefings to render informed judgments. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Must have an understanding of system architecture, integration techniques, and testing methods for evaluating risk and vulnerability, implementing mitigating improvement and disseminating IT security tools and procedures. Must have an understanding of IT security requirements for certification and accreditation, network operations and protocols, systems testing and evaluation, sufficient to plan and conduct security accreditation reviews and assess and advise on new or revised security measures and countermeasures based on the results of accreditation reviews. **NOTE: Those qualified applicants who meet both the minimum qualification requirement(s) and highly preferred criteria(s) will be considered best qualified for this position and will be referred to the selecting official(s) first for consideration.
