Summary About the position: This position is located at the Child Development Centers at Travis Air Force Base, CA Intermittent (Flexible) employees have no guaranteed hours but may work up to 40 hours per week. Eligible to use base facilities such as: Base Exchange (BX), Gym, Outdoor Rec, Library, Marina, Golf Course, Bowling Center, and the Arts & Crafts Center. Physical Effort: Frequently lifts or moves objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Requirements Conditions of Employment This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation. This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain current record of immunization. This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and one every three years thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must be able to follow simple oral and written instructions, be able to use hand tools for cleaning and operate simple machines. Must be skilled in doing tasks with several steps and must use judgment in sequencing tasks. Must have knowledge of sanitation standards in handling and serving food, and for cleaning equipment and work area. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution in order to qualify. Additional information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. This includes providing any supporting documents needed for verification. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at time of hire. This position requires the incumbent to be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
