You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Engineering Equipment Operator ~ without more than normal supervision. Have the ability to perform common Engineering Equipment Operator tasks. I can operate a grader and bulldozer to clear brush; grade roads, push, pull, pile and load earth, sand and gravel; backfill and/or dig trenches. I have experience performing operator level preventative maintenance on assigned equipment. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

• PHYSICAL EFFORT: Heavy physical effort is used in constantly bending, reaching turning and moving hands, feet and legs to handle different sets of controls. Considerable strain is caused by constant vibration jerking and jolting from operations over rough surfaces. Frequently work in awkward or strained positions or perform constant standing and walking when patching roads. In addition exerts considerable effort when using shovel, jackhammer or pick to repair asphalt. Frequently lifts and caries items weighing 50 pounds an occasionally heavier.

• WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in all types of weather, often in open driver's seat or platform in all types or terrain. Exposed to possible
  injury due to possible overturning or equipment. Exposed to noise, vibration, dust and dirt and fumes. May be exposed to hazardous or
  flammable material.
