Summary This position is located on the Island of Oahu. This is a regular Full-time position with at min 40 hours/week eligible for NAF benefits package and leave accrual. 100% discount for 1st child, 25% discount for any additional child (ern) enrolled into a full time or part time or before/after program. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment. Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Meet qualification/eligibility/physical/background requirements for this position. Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations in accordance with current Army and DoD policy including annual influenza vaccinations. A one year probationary period may be required (either initially or upon conversion, if applicable). Successful completion of annual training requirements within the prescribed time frame and demonstrated on the job competence is required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) Check. Schedule includes irregular hours, evenings, and/or weekends. Duties involve working both indoors and outdoors under different types of weather conditions. Physical effort in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, arms, feet, and legs. There is a requirement to lift and carry items up to 40 pounds frequently and items that are heavier with the assistance of other employees or lift equipment. This position requires mandatory drug testing. Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation. Qualifications Must Meet All of the Following: 1. High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma. 2. Ability to communicate in English at a level to assure the duties described can be accomplished in a safe and satisfactory manner. 3. Experience in accomplishing the types of duties described in this job. 4. Requires a valid state driver's license (to operate a 15-passenger vehicle) OR requires a commercial driver's license (CDL) with no restrictions to operate a 24-passenger vehicle. FWS Allowances and Differentials This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position. All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee. Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800. Incentives and Bonuses Department of Defense (DoD) granted approval to extend temporary limited commissary privileges (excluding the purchase of tobacco or alcohol products) to CYS employees.
