Summary About the position: This position is located at the Aquatics Center, Ramstein AB, Germany. This position does not offer logistical support. The primary purpose of this position is to observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons. Must be able to frequently lift and carry medium to heavy objects up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and carry objects up to or over 100 pounds. Requirements Conditions of Employment This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results. Incumbent must be physically in Germany before a firm/final job offer can be received. This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. This position requires the incumbent to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. This position requires the incumbent to hold, or be able to obtain, American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR certifications or a nationally recognized equivalent. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have an approved and current nationally recognized certification in lifesaving and water rescue methods and skills, as well as basic first aid training, and CPR (both child and adult) training or must be obtained within 6 months of date of hire. Must have experience which provides a practical knowledge of swimming activities, rules and procedures and skill in the use and maintenance of various pool and safety equipment is desirable. Must be able to frequently lift and carry medium to heavy objects up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and carry objects up to or over 100 pounds. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
