Summary This position is located at Pililaau Army Recreation Center in Waianae, Hawaii (Island of Oahu). Lifeguard must have good vision (based upon an acceptable standard of 20/40 vision or better, either corrected (with glasses or contacts) or uncorrected). Must have a health assessment which documents good physical health, and free from communicable disease IAW current Army policy. Continuous exposure to sun and prolonged periods of high temperature and humidity. In case of exposure to infectious disease, incumbent is required to obtain the Hepatitis B vaccination series within a 24-hour period. Incumbent is required to follow environmental safeguards and wear personal protective equipment. May be assigned to irregular duties or when needed for special recreational events and related requirements. Work hours may involve weekend, weekdays, holidays and night duty. Selected applicant must be able to pass a Medical Physical Examination. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: 1. Must currently hold the following certifications: Waterfront Lifeguard Certification CPR/AED Certification Oxygen Administration Certification First Aid Certification 2. Must be willing to obtain First Responder Certification withinsix (6) monthsof hire date. 3. Preferred are those with waterfront experience in ocean rescue. Pay-Band (NF) Allowances and Differentials: This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
