The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Boston Medical Center/Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Academic Gynecologist-Oncologist to provide comprehensive health care in both inpatient and ambulatory settings, including actively participating in the educational and clinical training of residents and medical students. This physician will join a department that provides safe, high-quality, cost-effective obstetrical and gynecological care using evidence-based medicine and best practices. Our multi-disciplinary team includes OB/GYN generalists, specialists in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, MIGS, Urogynecology, Gyn Oncology, Complex Family Planning, and REI, along with Certified Nurse Midwives, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Genetic Counselors. The hospital boasts advanced minimally invasive surgical capabilities with both the DaVinci Xi robotic platform and the Pinpoint system for conventional laparoscopic sentinel lymph node identification.
Academic appointment will be at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. Rank and salary will be commensurate to qualifications and experience. This position includes competitive compensation, benefits package, and CME allowance.
Why Boston Medical Center?
Emphasizing community-based care, Boston Medical Center (BMC) is the largest safety-net hospital in New England and is committed to providing consistently excellent and accessible health services to all, regardless of insurance status or any other considerations. BMC has a strong focus on public health, both domestic and global, and a commitment to reproductive health demonstrated by recently renovated state of the art facilities. 30% of our current faculty identify as Underrepresented in Medicine (URiM) and 50% of our residents identify as URiM. The hospital serves as the primary teaching affiliate of the nationally ranked Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, a world class research institution with more than $250 million in research grants each year.
Our clinical services and research programs are focused on eliminating disparities in health care. We have a fully accredited OB/GYN residency program with five residents per year. Although this position has primarily clinical responsibilities, all faculty members hold academic positions at Boston University School of Medicine and are expected to contribute to the education of medical students and OB/GYN residents. Our division is an active collaborator in research with co-investigators in medical oncology, radiation oncology, and pathology. The division of gynecologic oncology is growing and our ideal candidate is enthusiastic about building a division as well as strengthening academic and administrative collaborations with the BMC Cancer Care Center.
