Accountant - Utica, NY

Position Summary: The objective of the Accountant position is to provide support and perform tasks & functions related to financial reporting, project accounting and treasury.

 Job Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Assist with annual financial audits, and other compliance requirements
• Ensure compliance with the Company’s accounting policies and procedures; communicate exceptions to Supervisor
• Preparation of assigned general and recurring journal entries
• Prepare or assist with bank reconciliations, cash management and/or treasury functions
• Provide support with subcontractor reconciliations or other project accounting tasks
• Ensure assigned month-end tasks are completed timely for financial closing
• Assist with prepaid expense and fixed asset accounting
• Provide support for intercompany reconciliations and related party transactions
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Billing, and Expense Reporting on special projects or to resolve errors and discrepancies
• Special projects, project accounting tasks, and ad-hoc reports as requested
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Complete all required compliance training on an annual basis

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Minimum of 3 to 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting department
• Experience with Sage accounting software platforms (Preferred)

The pay range for this position is $55K to 75K based on experience.
