Job Overview
Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the Accounting Specialist will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of Sequel Med Tech. This position involves handling various accounting tasks such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger management, report generation, and maintaining accurate financial records. Additionally, the Accounting Specialist will document departmental processes and procedures.
*Please note this is a hybrid- based role where the expectation is that you will work onsite at our Manchester, NH headquarters a minimum of 3 days/week.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in payments and receipts.
- Assist in the maintenance of vendor master file and ensure Form W-9 is on file where required.
- Review employee expense reports and ensure all travel and entertainment expenditures are in accordance with company policy.
- Escalate any issues to Accounting Supervisor
- General Ledger:
- Maintain and reconcile various general ledger accounts, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Financial Reports:
- Assist in generation of accounting reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Assist in the preparation of audit reports and support audit processes.
- Financial Records Reconciliation:
- Reconcile financial records and accounts, identifying discrepancies and rectifying issues in a timely manner.
- Documentation of Processes:
- In partnership with Accounting Supervisor, document and update Accounting processes and procedures to maintain compliance and efficiency.
- Suggest process improvements as appropriate.
- Additional Support:
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested financial documents and information.
- Assist in the implementation of Accounting System(s)/application(s).
Minimum Requirements
- Associate degree in finance, accounting or similar preferred but not required
- 2+ years of Accounts Payable/Receivable experience for a commercial-stage company
- Experience with Netsuite or another ERP system preferred
- Experience with QuickBooks or other accounting software.
- Experience with Concur.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Customer service and problem-solving mindset and approach to work
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance in accounting practices.
