Allied Trade Leader

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Allied Trade Leader without more than normal supervision. Must possess the ability to perform common tasks including giving directions to a number of employees in accomplishing trades and labor work associated with the machinist and welder field. Implement, establish deadlines and prioritizing work methods and policies, pass on instructions received from supervisor, demonstrate work procedures, and check work for compliance and provide status reports.- Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.



PHYSICAL EFFORT
Work requires standing, bending and walking and frequent handling of objects weighing up to 10pounds and occasionally lifting objects over 40 pounds. All lifts over 50 pounds will be assisted with a two person lift or using a mechanical handling equipment lifting device. The two-person lift limit is100 pounds and will only be used for single event, non-routine lifts.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Works in a well-lit, heated, ventilated shop with concrete floors. Exposed to dust from grinding, oil from machines, dirt, heat, noises and fumes. Subject to the hazards of burns from hot metal chips, dust in the lungs, cuts, bruises, injuries to hands from use of machine and hand tools, skin irritation from contact with coolants, lubricants and abrasive compounds, and to strains from infrequent moving, lifting and handling of heavy items. Wears safety glasses, safety shoes and other safety apparel and equipment as required.
