Appian Sales Engineer/Architect
Full-time Remote
Overview
We are looking for a qualified and proactive individual who will act as the key technical advisor for Appian presales activities along with architectural guidance, design and delivery for our Appian engagements. The Appian Sales Engineer/Architect plays a dual role at Inspirant helping to support and drive new sales while ensuring project success for our clients as they embark on significant digital transformation initiatives. The Principal Architect will help articulate and position Appian's value proposition for business and technical end users for prospects and our customers. The individual will also act as Inspirant's technical leader on key Appian engagements and will have a knack for fostering relationships and building trust with prospective customers.
Responsibilities
Presales
  • Partner with the sales and leadership team to achieve defined sales goals
  • Assist in the production and delivery of client proposals and RFPs
  • Propose creative business and technical solutions that address the complex challenges and goals of prospects
  • Design and deliver high-quality technical proof of concepts for prospects
  • Represent Inspirant at key industry events, conferences, user groups, etc
  • Provide delivery estimates by thoroughly understanding scope
  • Help identify and deliver innovative go-to-market solutions

Architecture
  • Build trust with client teams through sound technical consulting and quality delivery
  • Responsible for architectural oversight, review, guidance and adherence to best practices on client engagements
  • Provide oversight of requirements gathering and impacts to overall design and delivery
  • Leverage Appian design best practices to deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Assist in development of project and resource plans, technical Appian architectures and system/non-functional requirements
  • Lead code/implementation reviews of Appian delivery teams
  • Develop and mentor analyst and developer resources

Requirements
  • 7+ years in enterprise application integration, providing architectural solutions, design, development and support/maintenance using Appian
  • Appian Certified Lead Developer preferred OR Appian Certified Senior Developer with 5+ years of delivery experience of Appian solutions
  • Ability to articulate and demonstrate Appian's core features and capabilities including SAIL, Appian Objects, UI/UX, Process Model design, RPA, IDP, Process Mining, Portals, and integrations
  • Experience as a successful Pre-Sales Engineer or a Professional Services consulting role
  • Strategic and creative problem solver to complex business and technical scenarios
  • Experience with Appian Process/Solution and Infrastructure Architecture (Infrastructure Architecture must include knowledge of Appian In-Memory KDB Engines, Sizing, Scaling Vertically/Horizontally)
  • Experience with RDBMS technologies (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)
  • Experience with Authentication technologies (e.g. SAML, Kerberos, OAuth, LDAP)
  • Experience with web services, integrations and middleware technologies (e.g. RESTful/SOAP, Mule/IIB, Fusion)
  • Experience implementing Cloud (AWS, Azure, Google, Private Cloud), On-Premises, and Hybrid platform deployments
  • Experience with source control (e.g. Git, SVN, CVS)
  • Exposure to RPA, AI and intelligent automation tools
  • Exposure to writing and/or utilizing Appian Plugins, Connected Systems and Component UI Plugins
  • Strong experience with Agile delivery methodologies
  • Passion for continued learning of new technology trends
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), presentation and client facing skills
