Application Consultant Business Functions

Introduction
IBM Application Consultants work directly with our clients on key initiatives. You will have the opportunity to build an in-depth understanding of their business issues and implement organizational strategies that drive adoption of change. We are looking for experts who can build credibility and trust with our clients and provide knowledge that addresses individual and unique business needs.

Your Role and Responsibilities
As an Application Consultant you’ll use your expertise in translating IT requirements into great design as well as development and assembly of components coding unit testing and documentation to create custom information systems for our clients. Applicants should also be specialists who primarily apply their technical skills in an internal or external customer billable service and implementation.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Strong understanding of payment processing lifecycle clearing settlement processes and standards (ISO20022 SWIFT Real-time payments etc.)
• Requirement Elicitation and Analysis: Expertise in gathering analyzing and documenting business and system requirements through interviews workshops and surveys. Assisting in Test Case preparation Test Case Review and Functional & System Testing
• Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Ability to break down complex problems and provide actionable solutions.
• Business Process and Gap Analysis: Proficiency in analyzing and mapping current and future-state business processes using tools like BPMN or Visio.
• Familiarity with regional and international payment regulations such as PSD2 AML/KYC OFAC FATF and GDPR

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience with RESTful APIs JSON and XML Kafka SQL Elasticsearch and data science.
• Hands-on experience with payment systems and tools such as SWIFT AMH CGI BESS SWIFT GPP or similar
• CBAP and Agile Certifications are nice to have.
